Cosmin Budeancă

Graduated with a degree in History (1997), from Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj.  He continued his studies studies of history and specialized in Oral History (1998, Babeş-Bolyai University). In 2008 Cosmin received a PhD in Oral History – Collective Mentalities.

Researcher at the Institute for Oral History, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj, from 2000 until 2006. Started working for the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in 2007 heading the Memory and Museum Service. Presently, he is working within the Special Investigation Bureau.

Cosmin Budeanca coordinated several editorial projects of the Institute among which “Prison Experiencies in Communist Romania” and ”Individual and collective destines in communism”. In addition, he was closely involved in the research activity concerning the history of the prison from Ramnicu Sarat and the Institute`s project of organizing a Memorial at Ramnicu Sarat.

Research interests include: recent history, social immaginary and collective mentalities.
