Adelina-Liana Ţînţariu

Graduated with a degree in Political Science in 2008 and in 2010 received her MA in Comparative Politics, from the University of Bucharest. Currently she is specializing in transitional justice, with her PhD thesis “Truth, Justice and Reconciliation in South Africa, Sierra Leone and Rwanda.”

Adelina started her partnership with the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania as a collaborator within the Special Investigation Service in 2008. Continued as a researcher for the Public Policies and Partnerships Department and in 2012 became Director of the Educational and Memory Policies Department. She coordinated several projects related to the Ramnicu Sarat Memorial among which the Ramnicu Sarat Summer University, the exhibition ”Ramnicu Sarat – the silent prison (1945-1963)”, the website and virtual tour dedicated to Ramnicu Sarat Memorial.

Her research interests focus on comparative politics, regime change, transitional justice, systemic and institutional changes and the Securitate (Romanian Secret Police) and its role in the extermination of the democratic elites after 1948.
